It is my sad duty to inform you that our Class President, John Skawski, has resigned due to ill health. Bob McKinless, Vice President, will take over. He will be writing you a letter this Fall.

Here are the most recent statistics for the
Class of 1948:
Duespayers as of June '09 are 306. That is 88% of our goal of 350. We have the second best percentage in the '40-'49 decade. Our goal, starting in September '09, has been reduced to 320, which is more realistic.

60th Reunion Attendance: We had 97 Classmates, 160 total. For our decade of the 40's: 1944 had 126 Classmates; 1942 had 100 Classmates.
Class of 1948 Scholarship

The 1948 Scholarship Fund was established in 1998. In case you do not recall, this scholarship was established to be awarded to children of Cornell staff members.
Book Value as of June '09: $203,090.
Market Value as of June '09: $184,971.
This Scholarship Fund is invested with the
Long-term Cornell investment pool.
The One Year Return: 2.7%; Three
year return: 14.5%; Five year return: 14.6%.
The
Payout for 2008-09: $12,328.
Estimated Payout 2009-2010: $10,498.
